Kathiawari cholay has their own speciality of taste with little bit difference of ingredients. Try out this recipe of chickpeas and enjoy as a snack.

Prep time: overnight+10 min
Cook time: 40 min
Total time: overnight+50 min
Yield: Serves 4
Ingredients:
Desi chickpea: 250 gm
Baking soda: 1 tsp
Garlic: 1 tsp (chopped)
Water: 6 to 8 cup
Bread slices: 2 large
Tamarind pulp: ½ cup
Chat masala: 1 tsp
Red pepper: 1 tsp (crushed)
Salt: 1 tsp
Coriander leaves: 2 to 3 tbsp (chopped)
Directions:
Soaked desi chana overnight with baking soda, next morning wash well.
Boil in 8 cups water with chopped garlic when chana half tender.
Blend bread slices previously soaked in water and add to the boiling chana.
Add tamarind pulp, chat masala, salt and crushed red pepper, let it cook for half an hour till gravy thick.
Lastly sprinkle coriander leaves.

Ingredients:
Whole green gram : 3/4 cup
Salt : to
taste
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp
Coriander powder :
1 tbsp
Cumin powder :
1 tbsp
Turmeric powder :
1/2 tsp
Red chili powder :
1 tsp
Coconut powder : 2 tsp
Oil :
100 gm
Onion : 2 (large chopped)
Tomatoes :
250 gm (chopped)
Green chilies :
4 (finely chopped)
Green coriander leaves :
1/4 bunch for garnishing (chopped)
Directions:
Clean and wash the whole green gram.
Heat oil in a medium size cooking pot, fry chopped onion, till it turns translucent.
Add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder turmeric powder.
Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, coconut powder and salt to taste.
Now add the green gram in to the masala.
Add water, leave it for cooking on medium flame, till the gram is cooked.
Garnish with chopped green coriander leaves.
